What Is Adventure Travel?
Adventure travel can mean something different to everyone. In a general sense, it's travel that gets you out of your normal "comfort zone," that pushes the envelope (so to speak), that introduces you to new experiences, new places, new people - that broadens your view of the world. It can be a cultural experience, like a visit to the fascinating city of Calcutta, India (just featured in the New York Times Sunday travel section). Or it can be a physical experience, like white water rafting in the western United States. OR it can be both cultural and physical, like climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, or trekking in Nepal. It can be luxurious, like a Silver Sea cruise to Antarctica, or rustically simple, like bird watching in Costa Rica.

My name is Candy Adriance, and I'm the adventure travel specialist for Yankee Travel. I'll be maintaining this page, offering you ideas and great values in a broad range of adventure travel. TANZANIA

KENYA
The most famous of Kenya's national parks, the Masai Mara caps the northern end of the Serengeti Plain. The Mara River, a natural boundary between Kenya and Tanzania, sets the stage for the twice-yearly spectacle of wildebeest and zebra herds. Lions reside in large prides, and the ability to observe them at close range astonishes most first-time visitors. Early morning
